Stop buying homemade jam and follow these easy steps to make your own! You then ditch all the perseverates. You can make it ahead of time by swapping caster sugar for jam sugar however it will be good for a week or two anyway.

200 g fresh fruit
200 g caster sugar
1 tbsp vanilla exract
10 ml water

Instructions

Start, by placing your fresh fruit with your water into into a large saucepan and slowly simmer over a low heat until they become soft and start to break down.
Once your fruit is soft and starts to break down, pour over your sugar and turn up to a medium heat and allow to slowly boil.
Once your fruit and sugar are boiling, reduce to a simmer and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. The sugar should dissolve and the fruit should shrink. Allow to cool before placing in a sterile air tight jar. If you don't want your Jam to have chunks of fruit you can use a potatoes masher to mash them down then strain them through sieve.
